Dwayne Johnson posts a photo from the set of the change and says “we couldn’t have made this movie without you.”
#PamelaAnderson has entered the cast for the big screen remake of Baywatch with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The actor affirmed the news on his Instagram account where he named Anderson’s CJ Parker “one of the most iconic characters of a generation.”
He also posted a photo revealing him in his lifeguard costume with his arm around the star.
The statement comes after pamela Anderson told a magazine last month that she wasn’t a fan of remakes of TV shows.
She said Harpers Bazaar: “Well, they phoned me and asked me to be in it, but I haven’t decided yet.
“I don’t know. I don’t prefer remakes of TV shows and I kind of desire to leave it as is and remembered for that. I’m not sure if I wanna go on Baywatch and be like, the old lady acting at a counter somewhere.”
Anderson, 48, will not be contesting Parker again – the role has gone to mirror and actress Kelly Rohrbach – and it is not known if she will wear the great red swimsuit.
The Rock wrote: “A preference to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #BAYWATCH cast.
“We couldn’t have done this movie without you.
“Welcome home. Inspired you had a blast with us!”
Anderson’s co-star David Hasselhoff also has a cameo in the movie which sees Zac Efron play a lifeguard.
The film is scheduled for release on 19 May 2017.
